Images of Mini’s new 4WD have leaked on the internet, revealing a chunky soft-roader tailor made for the suburbs.
Pictures of Mini's biggest model yet have been leaked on the internet ahead of the vehicle's official public unveiling at March's Geneva motor show.
The photos confirm Mini's Detroit motor show concept, the Beachcomber, previewed key elements of the design and shape for the company's new soft-roader that is expected to be called either the Crossman or Countryman.
Mini styling cues are evident inside and out, but the high-riding model will be a significant new tangent with its four-metre length and new all-wheel-drive system - called 'All4'.
The elevated ride height and chunkier body features give the Crossman the requisite off-roader look, though don't expect this Mini to cope with much more than dirt roads away from the bitumen. The pictures also confirm the Crossman - which might be called Countryman instead - will employ a traditional, roof-hinged tailgate rather than the side-hinged 'barn doors' seen on Mini's Clubman model.
Inside, the Crossman looks little different to any other current Mini with its round-themed cabin, large central instrument dial and toggle switches.
The Crossman will expand Mini's line-up to six models after BMW confirmed its British brand will build the Coupe and Roadster concepts unveiled last year.
The Crossman will also be the first Mini to be built outside the United Kingdom, with Austrian company Magna Steyr looking after production because of a lack of space at Mini's Oxford plant. Checkout the photographs in Admins Photo Albums

Hi,Well we've been around for a week after a soft launch where all we have done is sent out a few selective emails. Firstly thanks to everyone who has registered, thank you all for road testing the site, adding photo's & albums, freinds and creating groups, everything appears to be working OK unless anybody can tell me different. Our job now is to spread the word & start cranking up the numbers, this is where you can all get involved. Hopefully you all like the site and like us can see the potential it has within the "mini" community so won't have a problem in inviting your freinds along. It's easy hover your cursor on "more" along the top bar, then click on "freinds" then click "Invite Freinds" in the menu on the right, add an email address, personalise the message & hit save, the system will take care of the rest! Thanks for your enthusiasm & support so far & lets make this site happen. CheersAdmin

Well, the site is up and running & member number 6 has just joined the party. Thank you all for giving MiniFreaks a try, as you all know to make this work we need the support of our members and hope you will spread the word and tell all of your freinds about the site. Hopefully you will take the time to explore all of he applications and features available to you, if you are familiar with myspace or facebook you will have come accross them before but over the coming days I will highlight a few of them in case they are new to you. I guess the first thing to do is to upload an "Avatar" or site icon, this will identify you and make sure you show up on the front page so everyone can see you as a new member. Remember www.minifreaks.co.uk is your site so give it a full "road test" invite your freinds and have fun. If you spot anything that's not working as it should let us know. All for now. Admin
